Atti workshop: "Irregularities prevention and management in the framework of EU funds"

On 18th and 19th of April was held in Rome a training workshop on the management and prevention of fraud in relation of the EU funds for fisheries, funded under the Community Action Programme Hercules 2, co-financed by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) . The workshop, devoted mainly to the regions – charged  for the management of FEP - also involved all the authorities of management, inspection and control.

The Hercule II program aims to promote the activities of protection of the financial interests of the European Union in respect of revenue and charge for the period 2007-2013. The seminar also allowed an outlook on the new 2014-2020 planning period and the main changes introduced by OLAF in his fight against fraud, such as the information system.

More specifically, the objectives of the program Hercules II and, therefore, of the workshop can be summarized as follows:

  • strengthen cooperation and the exchange of information between the various partners at national and international level;
  • better knowledge of OLAF and its working methods in the EU;
  • identify weaknesses in the prevention and fight against fraud, in order to strenghten these faults;
  • improve the skills of the actors involved in the prevention and detection of fraud;
  • divulgation of the the results to a broader audience.
