Not many people know what has been and what is still the great experience of reclamation. Yet it has been one of the most far-seeing initiatives of the new Italian state that accompanied the social emancipation and development of our society to this day. 

The historical photographic sequence that we propose, has been premiered in the commemorating event  of the 150 years of land reclamation that took place in Rome in the complex of San Michele a Ripa Jan. 27, 2012.

This photographic catalogue shows some of the numerous existing hydraulic engineering works in this field and aims to raise awareness especially to the new generations, of this exciting and often forgotten reality.
