The seeds are a main production inputs for cereals farms and at the same time are the guarantee of quality and traceability of the product obtained.

In this view has been provided, in the Cereal Plan, a specific action aimed to identify the main problems of the seed sector which can have a direct impact on the competitiveness of the whole cereal sector.

The analysis carried out gives the opportunity to define the contribution of cereal seed to the production costs incurred by companies cereal; to know deeply the level of competition existing in the market of seed grain and its impact on the competitiveness of the whole cereal sector; and finally, to identify open issues and new challenges that the seed sector is subject, in order to take them into account in elaboration of support proposals for the cereals sector.
