The estimation of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions has a crucial role in tackling climate change, also in the agricultural sector. This paper analyses the possibility of estimating GHG emissions occurring within the farm, up to the farm gate. The methodological proposal, called ICAAI (Impronta Carbonica Aziende Agricole Italiane, i.e.: Carbon Footprint of Italian Farms), adapts IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) guidelines at farm level and can be used both from farms in the FADN sample and from other farms, by entering a few data in a web page.
