Seminars on rural tutorial. A training program and orientation dedicated to forty high school graduates of agricultural institutes adhering to RENISA
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry informs that from Sunday, September 7, 2014 will begin, as part of the National Rural Network, a pilot testing "Seminari di tutoraggio rurale" (Seminars on rural tutorial) a training program and orientation dedicated to forty high school graduates of agricultural institutes adhering to RENISA (National Network of Agricultural Schools).
The training will take place at the regional nature reserve Oasi WWF "Lago di Penne", in Abruzzo, from September 7 to 12. Students will be engaged in the field , with study tours with local farms, workshops and meetings with actors in the territory. Will participate in this summer school also five young farmers winners of the last two editions of "New Factors of Success", a competition sponsored by the National Rural Network farm run by young people who have benefited from the support of the Common Agricultural Policy to implement best practices for Rural Development .
The topics on which the participants in the Seminar will confront will be the valorisation of local genetic and biodiversity, the quality and traceability of food, the competitiveness of enterprises, the sustainability of production and recovery of food waste, agro-food, and rural areas marketing . The seminar will cover various aspects such as rural development, traditional crafts and ecotourism.
In addition, from 27 to 30 of October 2014, high school students from all over Italy will be able to revisit the activities of the summer school of Penne at website www.ruraland4.it through a virtual path of the activities carried out in the field. The goal of the initiative is to create a synergy between the institutions of the agricultural and rural world, the system of secondary education and the business of agriculture in order to strengthen their the skills of each of these stakeholders.
In addition to providing students with a stronger technical and operational and cultural skills, the seminar will be helpful for them to become part of the process of rural development in order to safeguard the public goods associated with agriculture.
