On February 27, 2014, 9:30 to 17:00 INEA (room Serpieri), Nomentana 41 - Rome, organized the Seminar: Innovation in "Leader" strategies for local development: proposals for the 2014-2020 programming period.

Over the past few months, the Commission published the final versions of the Community regulations; Italy has sent the draft of the Partnership; regions are defining the regional development Programs. This seminar has been designed considering the changes introduced by the EU Community and by the national documentation and it intends to deepen and foster dialogue between the Local Action Groups (LAGs) on the options for the Leader in the 2014-2020 programming period. The seminar includes plenary sessions and work groups. Plenary sessions aim to explain the new features introduced in the final versions of the EU regulations and in the draft of the Partnership. The aim of the working groups is to exchange views on proposals for action in the implementation of Leader which can contribute to the definition of innovative local development strategies. In particular, there are four thematic groups designed to collect and compare experiences on a local scale, and which have contributed to the following items: strengthen the local economy and mitigate the effects of the economic cycle; mitigate the risk of cultural discomfort and social marginalization (weak groups, youth, women, the elderly, the unemployed, immigrants, people with disabilities); improve the use of local resources, mitigate the depletion of natural and landscape resources and the exploitation of the historical-cultural heritage; encourage the active participation of population and the aggregation between local players.

The meeting is also an opportunity to take stock of the situation on the 2007-2013 programming period and discuss the main activities of the Task Force Leader for 2014.
