The United Nations Global Compact (GC) initiative was launched in 1999 by the former Secretary General Kofi Annan with the goal of gathering companies interested in improving the ethical, social and environmental aspects of their business.
The GC is a platform for information and disclosure of the ten principles on corporate social responsibility; these principles involve the field of human rights, workers' rights, environmental protection and fight against corruption.
The AGRES project is naturally aligned with the principles of the GC through the 4 macro-areas proposed. The participation of INEA, in this sense, aims at underlining and re-launching the importance of business sustainability in a strategic sector such as agriculture.
As Italian public body and signatory member of the GC, INEA is committed to support and promote these principles among its stakeholders, as well as to make them key in the choice of its strategic orientation.
