The Food Industry 

Rome, June 11th 2014 -During the first three months of 2014, the production of the food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 0.9% compared to the same period last year. Similarly, the economy compared to the previous quarter, October to December, 2013, reported negative values for the food industry in contrast to the manufacturing sector, on which, showed a slight recovery. Should be noted, however, that the food industry is one of the sectors that has performed better in a situation of serious economic crisis characterized by greater dynamism of the production levels, giving a boost to the "made in Italy" image on international markets.
