The Library of the Institute specializes in economics, agricultural policy and the social sciences applied to agriculture. Its rational collection of scientific papers and publications for the exclusive use of internal researchers was already documented in the 1930s.

In the 1940s it had its first administrative reorganization, with which it began taking the inventory of a large number of volumes and their registration on paper records, in numerical/ chronological order of acquisition, complete with bibliographic data.

The Library contains over 30,700 printed monographs, 1.000 periodicals, including over 40 current, more than 660 documentary units of gray literature; 66 theses and dissertations, special collections (approx. 400 ancient books and periodicals, manuscripts, maps and charts), a multimedia library that contains over 640 electronic resources and audiovisual material.

The structure of the collections includes: the historical foundations Bocchi and Bandini, the modern collection consists of acquisitions, exchanges and free gifts; the publications developed and published by the Institute.

The library service meets the daily needs of various users, including researchers, technologists, technical and administrative staff and internal collaborators. Teachers, scholars and professionals can use it during the opening hours to the public.
