All the works owned by the Library can be consulted in rooms open to the public except for the rare and valuable material (volumes from the XVI-XX centuries). Its consultation is allowed only in exceptional cases upon authorization of the Head of the Library.
Access to the collections is not free, but it is mediated by the service staff. People interested in consulting this material must apply to the staff of the Library: the required documents will be available as soon as possible.
From workstations in the catalogs room, you can also see all the online databases and electronic journals accessible through the Institute intranet.
Loan
Only internal users are allowed to borrow. External loans are not allowed. The documentary monographs and serial material on hardcopy and electronic resources (CD-Rom, DVD, etc.) can be borrowed, with the exception of rare and valuable books (e.g. Historical collections), regardless of the presence of clusters of modern material in the collection.
Reproductions
Partial photocopying is allowed, pursuant to Law No. 633 of 22 April 1941(art. 68) "Protection of copyright and other rights related to its operation" and Law No. 248 of August 18, 2000 "New standards of copyright protection," of magazine articles or parts of monographs held by the Library, except for documents of particular nature or value.
Reproduction of historical collections is not allowed.
Reference
A reference service that offers assistance of qualified staff for the bibliographic searches, information on the search tools available in the library and consultation of the electronic resources by local and remote access is available at the library. The Service is provided by telephone, email, postal service and direct contact on the premises.
Dissemination of publications
This service consists of the management and dissemination of material published by the Institute (via the OPAC catalog, the catalog of INEA publications and bibliographic newsletters), and their distribution through the central directory of inside and outside users.
