We present the results of studies carried out on the digitized historical material (from 1027 to 1866) at the State Archives of Florence and the "Biblioteca of Camaldoli".

Thanks to the research collaboration signed with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Section Production and Management Agriculture and Forestry University Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM), we analyzed the relationship between the elapsed Camaldolese monks and the local people in the management of forest resources of Casentino Apennines

This report highlights a strong community that still proudly claims his past, and also an environmental and landscape heritage of inestimable value, showing how sustainable conservation can and should coexist.
