The work that has been developed within the Project Pop-star 2014/2020 "Proposals and Guidelines for the Rural, Environmental and Territorial development policies" wanted to contribute to the process of definition of the future regional planning for rural development.

Actually, it attempts to combine the issues of greatest importance for the rural development of the autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia with the guidelines by the EU (and the Ministry). The Project intends to trace the main guidelines for the drafting of the future Rural Development Program (RDP), thanks also to the synergy of the working group "Pop-star" with the regional working groups.

The document analyzes the draft of the EU Regulation and its subsequent modifications and it follows an ongoing process until the European multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 of February 2013 is approved.

Then, it outlines the main framework within which the future Rural Development Program should be placed, that is the Common Strategic Framework (CSF), the Partnership Agreement, as well as the opening of the public debate on the methods and targets for an efficient use of EU funds which have been allocated for the period 2014-2020.
Finally, the goals (expected results) and the interventions (actions) that could be part of the future Rural Development Program in Friuli Venezia Giulia are pinpointed in a macroscopic way according to some assessments of the regional rural context.
